I'm Jill, your Community Pilates and Exercise instructor

As a youngster, I enjoyed middle distance and cross country running at county level and I represented the English Schools team. I have run 4 marathons but now prefer the more relaxed experience of running off road with friends, in the beautiful peaks and dales of Derbyshire, South and North Yorkshire!

After training as a teacher I taught in primary and special schools and worked as a Community Teacher for 5 years. I was involved in Parenting Education for 14 years and then worked with the SureStart programme supporting 0-5 year olds and their families for 10 years.

Since retiring I trained as a Pilates teacher. I started Community Pilates and Exercise as I am particularly interested in helping all ages to keep strong and mobile, fit and flexible while maintaining good posture. I keep up to date through CPD training sessions. 

My qualifications:

  • B.Ed (Hons) in PE and Education

  • Modern Pilates Matwork level 3, CYQ

  • Adapting Exercise for Older Adults, YMCA

  • Move It or Lose It training for working with older adults

  • First Aid at work
